How to get to Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is the capital of Macedonia, located at the northern of the country.  It is one of the major ports of Greece, as well as the natural crossroad of Greece with Europe and Asia.  Thessaloniki can be reached almost by all means of transportation as it posses a sea-port, an airport and a railstation.

From air it can reached either by a direct flight from abroad from many major European cities, or through a connecting flight from Athen’s airport.  Flights from Athens to Thessaloniki are regural.  More  information about their timetable can be found in Olympic Airway’s site.  Smaller, privately owned airliners also have daily flights to Thessaloniki. 

From Athens, Thessaloniki can also be reached through rail or coach service.
