Equipment

The laboratory provides up to 8 simultaneous working places and all the necessary facilities for sorting and identification of macrozoobenthos samples (benches, ventilation, refrigerator, cameras, stereoscopes etc.).

The laboratory equipment includes of:
• Stereoscopes type NOVEX RZT-SF 65.560 (with zoom 0,65 ~ 4,5x and Zoom ratio 1: 7),
• Olympus Stereoscope with high resolution SZX10 (with zoom 0,63x ~ 6,3x),
• Camera type GMEX 5000 (5Mpixel CMOS camera) for photographing benthic macroinvertebrates,
• Computers and printers,
• Tools (nippers, magnifiers, specific plates, counters, sieves,  etc.) for sorting and identifying macroszoobenthos.

In addition, it has  field equipment for monitoring quality elements like physico-chemicals:
• Portable submersible sensors measuring physicochemical parameters (AQUAREAD AP- 2000), (temperature, pH, oxygen, conductivity, salinity, TDS Total Dissolved Solids, Turbidity),
• Portable Photometer (PHOTOMETER SPECTROQUANT NOVA 60A – MERCK)  which measures the parameters by using standard  trade-kits of nutrients ions of  Nitrogen, Phosphorous  and many other chemical elements,
• Specific equipment that measures BOD (glass bottle of 250 ml capacity) and TSS,
• Portable refrigerators and constant temperature chambers for transporting water samples,
• Flowmeter (SWOFFER 2100) for flow velocity measurement,
• Special net (ISO: 10870) for collecting samples of benthic macroinvertebrates,
• Special suits and additional equipment for the staff during the field work.
